When the Diocese of San Jose was erected in 1984, majority of the parishes in the new diocese were administered by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC). Gradually, however, these parishes were turned over to the diocesan and clergy.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish was part of St. John the Evangelist Parish of Guimba, Nueva Ecija. St. John has a vast area its population big (more or less 74,000). St. John composed of 63 barangays many of which are far from the parish church and inaccessible especially during the rainy seasons due to bad roads. So for the pastoral reason and upon the recommendation of priest of St. John Parish, Bishop Leo M. Drona, SDB, DD together with the Board of Consulters, decided to divide St. John Parish by creating Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish and entrusted it to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.
The new parish is composed of the following barangay / sitios: Agcano, Bulakid, Bunol, Consuelo, Cabaruan, Catimon, Caingin, Tabing ilog, Cardinal, Culong Caballero, Faigal, Manacsac/Dalaydayan, Maturanoc, Naglabrahan Guimba, Nagpandayan, Sta. Cruz, Tampac I, Tampac II & III Triala, San Bernardino and Sinulatan. The new parish has a population of about 20,000 spread out in the 23 barangay/sitio. Farming is the main source of livelihood.
The site of the parish was donated by Atty. Agnes Flores (now deceased) and Atty. Angelito Domingo, her former owner spouses Trinidad (Trining) Tinio and Feliciano Ramoso and Macaria (Ala) Tinio and Francisco Domingo. The land was donated by the owner, but the farmer selling the land was paid so that he would voluntary vacate the property. The church site has an area of 26,866 square meters.
Construction of the new church started in 1994 and completed in 1997. The church was built by donation of St. John Parish and funds collected by means of various fund-raising activities such as direct solicitations, bingo-raffles, voluntary donations from friends here and abroad, etc.
On the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, December 1999, the new church was blessed by Bishop Leo M. Drona, SDB, DD and dedicated it to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart as Patron saint of the Parish.
